Its a very simple mod if you have the old analogue clock and wish to get rid
all you need to do it is
- DID display with wiring plug and around an inch or 2 of loom on it
- Its Surround for the dash
- The temperature sensor and its wiring plug with some loom (part no for sensor 9152245)
- Some 2 core cable or the factory loom upto the diag. plug (although you will have to extend from there to the DID)
1. Remove analogue clock and disconnect wiring
2. Crimp a male spade connector on each of the following:- Red, Brown and Grey/Black wires
3. Connect these to the old wiring plug the analogue clock left behind, Red to Red, etc etc
4. Extend the Blue and Blue white wires using 2 core cable to outside of the Vehicle to the N/S (Passenger side) of the front bumper and join the wiring plug for the temperature sensor with butt connectors or a proper job, solder and heat shrink, make sure the wires match i.e. the blue wire is connected to the blue wire, same with the other
5. Connect sensor and clip into bumper (hole is already there awaiting the sensor)
6. Clip surround onto DID and slot into its hole
7. Hopefully you should have a working DID
This is the Pinouts for Information
Pin 1 +12v red
Pin 2 temp sensor blue/white
Pin 3 earth brown
Pin 4 illumination grey/black (dash clocks, which is dimable) or grey/green
Pin 5 ignition black (Not Required)
Pin 7 temp sensor blue
Pin 12 speed MPH blue/red Used for temperature increase hysteresis (Not Required)

Re: How2 wire in a DID display
Nice write up Dave.
Only other thing I'd add is when I wired mine up, instead of wiring it to the illumination (grey / green) already present I ran a new lead to the headlight switch so that the DID faded with the dash clocks.
