Rear ARB bushes
Morning.
Looking to replace all 4 bushes on the rear anti-roll bar as they are basically disintegrated and in bits. 2 questions:
1 - what diameter/size are the bushes that I need?
2- to remove the ARB, do I just literally unbolt the 4 bolts that hold it on, 2 on the axle and 1 at each wheel? Any precautions or anything or is it just as simple as that? It's for a 1.8.
Cheers.
Andrei.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Re: Rear ARB bushes
lots and lots and lots of penetrating fluid, or several doses of rost off ice
Those bolts will be very well rotted on and may need some gentle working back and forth. If you can get to the threaded side of the bolt, give it a good working over with a wire brush between applcations of penetrating fluid or rost off ice (wear gloves with the rost, the cans get VERY cold.
And the rear ARB came in 15 and 18mm diameter If I remember correctly.

Like he said,
and yes I think it is just 4 bolts...
2 on the axle-beam, and one on each wheel hub mount

Re: Rear ARB bushes
Smashing
Indeed, the bolts do look like they're truly rusted on, but where there's a will, there's a way. I'll get some penetrating oil then.
15 and 18mm, is that the internal diameter? and where are they positioned, respectively. i.e. 15mm on the axle or the hubs?
Andrei.

Re: Rear ARB bushes
it is either one or the other, not both..
so - either all 15mm or
all 18mm.

Re: Rear ARB bushes
Well whatever it is, it'll be the same diameter as the anti roll bar itself, so that's a way to find out. Also, are they the same shape? Only I wouldn't want to get the wrong ones.
Thanks.
Andrei.

Re: Rear ARB bushes
I was thinking powerflex polyeutherane ones, but not paying that much. Just looking for a standard replacement for now.
Cheers Gary.
