Does anyone know what the difference is in the standard vauxhall springs.
My Motorsport has standard springs on that are marked as FG 243.
Catcar.info lists 2 types :
FG & GA which have different part numbers
FR & FJ which also have different part numbers
But no other information.

Re: Rear Springs difference ?
It's probably a slight revision done to the spring rate.
One might be slight stiffer than the other.
Vauxhall continually tweeked the suspension over the entire production run. There are literally hundreds of part numbers for different springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars.
Sometimes they had to change manufacturers for parts as well and this would also necessitate a new part number.
They also made reinforced springs for countries with poor quality roads.
To be honest, as long as you have a matched pair of springs on each axle, you should be fine with either one.
I doubt you'll notice the difference.

Re: Rear Springs difference ?
I have had a look on EPC with your reg number...
It quotes part number 90 348 360 - code FG
FJ, FR are listed for independent rear suspension.
GA is on the same "trailing arm" image as FG, but EPC excludes that code for your car.
GA may for standard springs,
whereas the FG will probably be for "sport" models... maybe lowered or stiffened.
So FG only...

Re: Rear Springs difference ?
I was asking because I thought I could get some SRI springs to hopefully lower the rear a little, but still remain factory looking & not have to harsh a ride.
Re: Rear Springs difference ?
You could indeed put 30 / 40 mm lowered springs and dampers all round.
That is what I did to my LS when I refurbed it in 2016 / 17. Spax lowered springs and Febi Bilstein dampers.
Initially the ride felt harder, but very in-tune with the road.
After approx 6 months of settling, the ride became a lot more comfortable.
Here it is on new springs and 14"rims.
I am sure you know how my car looked on lowered springs and 15" wheels.
UPDATE - I should probably explain that I got my dampers and springs from Demon Tweaks as a full kit.
4 springs and 4 dampers.
1/2 of the kit shown here.
