c18nz sump gasket problem leaking???

hi everyone,i have noticed a small amount of oil leaking from sump gasket and have pinched the bolts up a bit more but still leaking......annoyingly how easy is this to do and how to do it??? :? At the same time ill do and oil/filter change :cool


i know i need....
sump gasket
19mm to drain oil.
11mm to under gearbox platewhich is three bolts
10mm to undo sump

do i need to remove exhaust and anythink else?? can not find a how to guide either. :scratch
also can anyone tell me if a 2litre 8v performance manifold fit my 1800?
much help appreciated.

Just checked mine, yes you'd have to remove the front downpipe, from the manifold to the cat. Make sure you get new gaskets for the joints when re-fitting. Should just bolt off, drain the oil first thoroughly obviously.

the 2 liter one should fit, I think all 8v parts can be interchanged. :thumb

Thanks buddy.will do it at weekend,ill soak bolts in wd 40 if i have to take manifold of

WD won't be any good with that, might as well use penetrating oil, would work in much better. :thumb

Rost off ice or plus gas, for a couple of days before doing the job if possible.

Careful with those manifold bolts / studs too - they can snap.
When you do the sump gasket, make sure you use the vauxhall sealant and don't fill the car up for approx 8 hours afterwards (curing time) to allow it to seal properly.

Just use the baffle plate with the bonded gasket. I use no sealant and have no leaks.
....with a brew and my favourite biscuits.

question.have taken all the bolts of sump but wont come of as of oil pick up pipe.what do i do,thanks
