Hi all.
Have a 17td cav (95). Starts super cold, but can sometimes be hard to start when warm.
Just had new battery recently.
When start from cold changes revs. It would sit at 950 revs for like 2 mins then changes to 1000 then maybe back down. When warm sits at normal rev.
I think its coolant temp sensor??! Anyone help. Thanks!

Worth checking valve clearances but they usually
close up and make cold starts difficult.
Definately not temperature sensor.
Maybe glow plug relay being erratic.

Mine goes up to about 950rpm when started from cold but only on very cold mornings. The cold start mech is down the back of the engine under the pump, think it alters the pump timing. Give mine a squirt with multipurpose oil now and again and check it moves freely. When was the fuel filter changed last? How long does it take to start?
