56 combo gear linkage

Post by Deeksin »

Looking for some info I have a 56 plate 1.7 combo now the gear stick as lost its tension to return back to the centre of the box. It's not loose it goes into gears fine just doesn't spring back to the centre spot! Now I've had a quick look and it appears to be two cables the one that controls the left to right is the bottom one. Can these be adjusted or is it needing replaced really could use a combo Haines manual.

We have a combo van with the cable type gear linkage too. Ours needs attention as well. If its a fault at gear sitck. I found that spair parts are not available to repair it. Need to buy the housing and gear stick as one from Vauxhall. I was quoted just under £100 for it. That was with trade discount. I gave up looking for a 2nd hand one. Kept finding the rod type linkage.
