any tips for fitting valve seals

I'm going to fit a new set of valve stem seals to my C1.8NZ, do you just press them on by hand? How do you know when there on far enough?

Push them on gently with a socket around the rim, you'll feel it go on the stem, then stop pressing. There was a special tool, but not needed if you are careful.
