Had to laugh at that. Pretty clever that andreiCavalier342 wrote:What did you think I was referring to?? Owning a powerful car is simple, you give it a clean in the morning, tinker about with it for a bit, insert yourself in there, plough it down the road, really work the gear knob up and down to try all speed settings, quick shortcut up the back alley to the gas station, stick the big long pipe in the hole, fill it up, come back and chill out... Am I missing anything?Envoy CDX wrote:I'm not even gonna go there...Cavalier342 wrote:Had that problem several times thanks..
But down the straights, you just want to plough it....

Today had a few hours so started joining the chassis legs up
Again had to fabricate from mine the the original.
Tomorrow hoping to press in with it.
Couple of pics of today's efforts

Obviously, just wondering how the floor is going to look with all that raised chassis leg when it goes back in.btcctroy wrote:That's the idea lolEnvoy CDX wrote:Very nice

Re: Troy's btcc replica gsi
great job Troy as always, are you getting custom springs or coming up with adjustable coil over types for height adjustment
Re: Troy's btcc replica gsi
Yes gonna raise the floor, the way I'm gonna do it should look pretty neat.
Be similar to that of the boot space of a gsi

Thanks, been busy with the house and new job.
Re: Troy's btcc replica gsi
I don't really have a plan for that yet. The vectra c is tricky for coilovers as the shock is forward of the spring mount which kind of balance the load.Gray16v wrote:great job Troy as always, are you getting custom springs or coming up with adjustable coil over types for height adjustment
I would need to build an add on to the arm to use coilovers
These are what I had it mind

Re: Troy's btcc replica gsi
that will be spot on, so the shocker fits instead the damper. Great for track use be very positive

Any more updates pics etc
Re: Troy's btcc replica gsi
A few teaser pics
The suspension unit is finally bolted up and is square with the car
Just mid way building the control arm mounts and forming the chassis into them
Doesn't look like loads of progress but none of this is exactly a 5minute job

Good to see you back amongst us again Troy.
Biscuit supply was getting low.
I wasn't expecting for a minute that this was going to be a quick and simple job.
Pretty intense stuff.
Looking good though.
At least the bulk of the chassis mod appears to be done.

Cheers

Them control arm mounts are looking good, as robsey says the main work is mostly done now and just allot of boxing in to be done.
