Cavalier SRi Turbo

Post by Terry »

After a while without a 90's Vauxhall on the road I had to get myself another to stop the itch so to speak lol.

Here she is.

I've already changed the side repeaters for smoked ones, Fitted new leather gaiters as the original ones were worn.

Plans are to fit a b204 lump, Lower 60mm and fit 17's.

Not too bad. Both rear quarters have bubbled on the bit where the door shut is. I'll get that sorted soon.
Underneath there's some surface rust. I'll wire brush it all off and underseal it. The copper fuel lines are starting to rust which I'll also change.

Looks very tidy and original, bar the bits of rust etc, is it Smoke Grey?

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Yea smoke grey.
tbh I wasn't expecting it to be a dog really. Drove it back 100 miles and the ecotec didn't miss a beat, No crap out of the exhaust either.
It is a really tidy original Cav.

Shouldn't take long to get that up to scratch.

Not updated for a few weeks.
The plan was to fit a B204 but stumbled across a bargain of a LET.

The donor is an k reg gli. I prefer the SRi anyway. Plus if the blue one was a turbo it would take a lot to make it mint

tbh it looks worse than it is.

As you can see the bonnet has 2 massive holes so water has been allowed over the rocker etc. The oil and coolant was fresh. It turns over on the crank.
I'll be taking head and sump off, Replacing oil stem seals and Piston rings and possibly shells if they require it.

Ive just been over to terrys to grab some bits off this and hes right its not as bad as it looks. The rocker cover is a mess but it will all clean up fine. The car has some very nice parts on it though. A real bargain!
