WARNING!! VERY PICTURE HEAVY!!
I thought I would post up some pictures from the first day of the 2018 Classic and Performance Car Magazine Show held at Tatton Park in Cheshire.
It was not a clear decision to go there or not due to the threat of bad weather, but wifey said lets go - so we did.
Lo and behold, there was a siginificant amount of drizzle between midday and about 1:30 pm, however that soon passed and left a cloudy but baking hot afternoon to look at the auto jumble and the myriad of cars brought by various clubs and enthusiasts.
Due to the number of photos, I will do them in groups.
First up FORDS.- none of that modern tat.
Proper 80s and 90s stuff - and older stuff.
Good old XR3i
XR2i
Something much older
By far the most common car at the show was the 105E Anglias... loads of them.
A whole rake of Capris
The most vanely polished and presented Capri in the show... it was from a local car club to me.
Yes, there are lights and mirrors underneath to show off all the over the top detailing underneath.
My all time favourite - an Exscort Mk2 RS2000
ZEPHYRS AND ZODIACS
SOME YANK TANKS.
A pair of Trans Ams.
Proper cheesey graphics on the bonnet (hood).
And lastly a Pontiac 2 Seater called a Fiero GT

LAST BUT NOT LEAST -
The VAUXHALL, OPEL and HOLDEN vehicles.
Bedford Sooty Truck (as in Sooty and Sweep)
NOVA GSi.. there were a good few Novas making an appearance.
ASCONA-A - The great-grandaddy to the Cavalier MK3 (Vectra-A)
VXR 8 - The biggest engined Vauxhall at the show... 6.2 litres if I remeber correctly.
LOTUS CARLTON.
OPEL MONZA GSE
hmm nice
The only Australian at the show - HOLDEN
Going Older..
FIRENZA
CHEVETTE
By far the BRIGHTEST coloured car was this little example
Here come the CAVALIERS !! - Yayy.
Late 94, early 95 GLS in polar sea blue. (Saloon - not mine but lives near to me).
A clean white example
GSi Wannabees are in town...
But this is my favourite of the show...
I just melted when I saw it... Many fond memories of our own Mk2...
This is just a selection of the cars seen today... I took well over 600 photos, so had a real hard time reducing them down to these that you see here.
For anyone going to the second day (Sunday 3rd June 2018) - Enjoy!!
There is bugger all at the auto jumble if your car is newer than about 1980... but hey ho.
By far the biggest quantity of one group of cars was the Wolsey and Riley group. Well over fifty or so cars, followed closely by the Ford Anglia 105Es.
Only five mk3 Cavaliers, of which only two were in original (factory) configuration.
There were several odd ball cars and even a few prestige cars such as Jaguar Fs, Rolls Royce and a Bentley.

Thanks chaps...
Due to being a general motor show, there was minimal stuff worth buying, although I was on the hunt for Cavalier and camper van parts.
Plenty of bits for old Morris, Riley, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
An amazing amount of Fiat 126 parts too.
But no Fiats in attendance.
There were lots of tool stalls too, but I cannot justify buying any more when I have 3 tool chests and a cabinet full of them already.
Sadly the show closed officially at 4pm, so really early for a Saturday.
Many exibitors did stay behind, however there were a lot of exibitors who left before we did.
There were many interesting visitors cars too, including a sky blue Wolsely II, a heavily modified Hyundai Coupe S, only one Bay Window (T2) VW camper van, a Maseratti 4x4 and a Ferrari on it's own in a separate car park. - EDIT - See the nect post.
I am tempted to attend one of the VeeDub shows for bits for my T3, but I need to get it road worthy first.
Next show for me will be the VBOA Market Harborough show on Saturday 14th July 2018.
Just hope I will have my car something like presentable, in time. I will be in the general parking area.

Great selection of pics.
I've never seen an estate with a pop-top!
That must be cosy camping

Most on here will have never seen a Morris Marina, never mind a Marina pop top.
I am sure it is quite handy for very tall families - tee hee.
Interesting to see a Marina GT as opposed to the "TC".

The TC Marina had a lovely exhaust note as I remember!

I remember working on a friends Marina about 25 years ago.
He was really pleased because after I had sorted the car, he was able to get above 55mph on a down hill stretch of a local motorway.
The basic Marinas were painfully slow and sluggish.
Those were the days - ha ha.
The nicest car of that era that I worked on was a Manta-A with a bored out 1900 cc engine. You could get it to idle smoothly at 400 rpm.
Back in the days of the "Colortune" device.
None of this high tech gas tester stuff.
Just gauging on the colour of the flame / spark in the combustion chamber.
