Time to part Company - Selling Price

Post by nexus6 »

Hi guys, I've not been active on here but have enjoyed popping on and reading threads. It's time to part company with my '95 Mk3 Sri but I have no idea where I'd start with a price or what it's worth. It's been rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago and the list of works is very long. It doesn't have service history but the engine rebuild is well documented and I've had it serviced regularly after getting it from the rebuilder. Can anyone help with a price of it's worth and I'll then post it in the sale section.

You cannot post it for sale on the forums as you do not have enough posts. Sorry but you need 50 minimum. I'll leave this here pending admin opinion, but if it turns becomes a sales thread it will be deleted.

Ok ta, so I won't post it in the sale section, I would just like pointers on value.

Dubious, about leaving the thread up but since you haven't just registered I'm a bit happier to leave it. What's the overall condition of the car like?
From the 4 pictures I could see - it's clean but you can't really see the back end of it to comment on the arches, dog liegs.
No interior shots that I could see.

A bit more effort posting / linking to the actual pictures of the Cav will see more responses. Ecotec version I see?

Thanks for the reply and for letting the post sit here. The overall condition is very good/excellent. The interior is excellent/mint except for a tear on the drivers side arm rest vinyl. The arches I had to have rolled as it came with those alloys on. The guy who refurbed it never had any weight in the rear but when I had passengers, the tyres caught so I had them done and sealed. I have the Vauxhall alloys (not fan blades). I can upload as many pics as anybody likes to my Flickr page, I've nothing to hide, just curious what I could ask for. And yes, it's the Ecotec.

Personally I think you are looking at about £600 tops if it is genuinely good. Less if it has any flaws. Ecotec devalues it.

"Ecotec devalues it"
I was interested to note your comment, specifically re the Ecotec lump, and was curious as to the reason behind it?

Because nobody wants an SRi with an ecotec, Everyone wants the Redtop or Prefacelift 8v.

There is alot of stigma with the Ecotec lump unfortunately. They are sound motors realistically but they have a history with electronic gremlins (cam sensor mainly).

Yours is a classic, Dosent need work and looks spotless, Too good to be a work horse, Shame it didnt have a redtop as you'd have had you hands bitten off. Try advertising on gumtree and the other vauxhall sites
