my central locking seems to work now and again from the drivers door but always works from the boot lock, however i have noticed that when a turn the radio/cd player on (dont use it much) i can hear the boot lock clicking about 15 times and then it stops.the player has disc changer control built in but i have no disc changer in the car ,is it possible that the player has been wired to the locking system somehow.it was like this when i bought the car last week..very strange....if so which wire coulor wire would it be.

Just a thought :scratch
Is it definitely the tailgate lock that clicks, because just by chance it could be the electric aerial mast. If its the standard Cav radio unit, i think the cd player models had electric aerial masts, and they make a click if the mast is jammed or retracted.
Sounds random, but check it out.
Andrei.

andrei is probably right, its normally the Ariel that makes the clicking noise, either when you turn the unit on or when the radio comes on depending on the headunit.

thats why its clunking, cos the motor is spinning and skipping rather than pushing the aerial up

Ye, the same thing happened several times on my mum's Saab 900' The antenna snapped, and the guide rail inside was jammed, so the motor kept clunking away when the radio was turned on. Sounds like that definitely could be it.

Thats that sorted then.
Central locking, could be a number of things. Shortcircuit somewhere, loose wire maybe, try simple things like changing the relevant fuse, disconnect/ reconnect the battery etc.
