Well, I'm back after a much needed break from all things forum related (that is all the forums I use, not just cav), and I'm pleased to report my cav just passed it MOT again first time.

Oh and I got married...

The Cav never made the wedding... I've shown her the photos thou . She ran out of MOT just before the wedding, however a really good friend hired a Merc and drove us everywhere.

Amusingly I can go one up on myself... I've also acquired a new 10 inch scar. So I've also been recovering from that little bit of surgery

Hernia op... supposed to be a fibre optic job, but because I'm chubby and the hernia was in a difficult place they used a big bleedin' knife

Honestly Envoy I'm finding it really annoying that everyone keeps doing stuff for me. Normally I wouldn't mind, but now I've been told not to do anything I'm getting really irritated... bloody reverse psychology.

got to be done though if you want to make the best recovery. hopefully, it won't be too long before they give you a clean bill of health!

Ouuuch! I had a hernia and have a scar about an inch and a half long, that was painful enough after. Still better than permanently feeling like I'd been kicked in the knackers though. Hope it's healing ok, take care mate, if you push it too soon it can lead to problems.

They gave me 6 weeks to get back to normal and a full 4 months to get back to 100% (I've had a tissue reinforcement mesh... installed? Fitted?), it's been 6 weeks so I'm healed for the most part and fine for doing again. Although it still feels sore if I'm on my feet all day, but as I haven't had more than 2 Codeine since waking up with stitches (Ibuprofen don't count as they aren't a painkiller) I figure that's entirely normal.
Anyhow, the rant in the General Cav chat section is probably because of the lack of activity more than soreness, but the Cav is back and she need some TLC, I'd like to give her new belts, trackrod ends, sort some play out and now I have my Rasberry Pi (but no bloody power lead!!! AARRRRGGH!) I'm going to make some serious headway on my audio install. I've had the amp for years but faffed for years and since I quitted smoking at the same time as the hernia op I need something to do more than out of idle frustration.
Anyone else recieved a Pi? If not I will be updating the Cav WIP with my progress but be warned I'll probably start with some basic pre-built packages rather than compiling my own version of Android or Linux and the I/O pins will be being totally ignored until there are more resources and web-based info available.

Wow I bet that can be really sore if aggravated,some nice gentle mods on the cav for now then.Be nice to see some more recent pics of it the last time i read anything about it was when it blew one of the spark plugs out when you were driving it, good luck with your recovery

Played with a Pi, good fun if you have time to learn Linux too. ideal for the car as said, plays MP3's with no strain at all.

Been roughly ten years since I had mine, same thing, mesh and it still gets sore if I do any lifting/heavy manual. Burns like hell sometimes.
