I've noticed since before christmas something strange with the viewing figures.

I know the site is open to everyone but the figures seem unfeasibly high. I check in two or three times a day and they're jumping by hundreds and once over a thousand in a three hour period. I've searched for viruses and can't find any.
Am I the only one?

I am sure it is probably a software issue.

Being an admin, I see an awful lot of new subscribers.
90% never post... and almost as many never come back.

I do a purge of non-posters every 12 months to keep things tidy.

I once deleted James' wife's account... oops.
I am sure Lizzie doesn't harbour any bad feelings about it.

The forum firmware / software is a few years out of date, which probably doesn't help.

I've too been noticing that. Over Christmas views were going up virtually by the second. I guess though if the site gets a high number of views, then in turn it should come higher up the search results on Google, making it easier for people to find us.

It is odd how the viewer count has me plus 9 guests on this thread, but only 1 guest on each of the other 'recent' posts.

I see the [bots] do not count as guests.
They are counted separately.

After typing this it now says 13 guests....
..... and back down to 9. :scratch

Now that I know it's not just me and it's unlikely to be a virus I'll get used to it - eventually lol.
