Vauxhall temperature gauges
My sister-in-law has a new astra, after quite a few years of no temperature gauge, the new astra has a water temperature gauge AND oil temperature gauge. Seems a surprising turnaround.

Yes indeed - seems very odd.
Normally it is only your modders and tuners that fit oil temperature gauges.
Maybe Vauxhall are concerned about potential weaknesses within their engines, and need to give an extra warning for those bothered to take notice of it.

Re: Vauxhall temperature gauges
Oddly no speedo, one of the display modes in the middle is a large fake lcd speedo with pointer around edge only.

Re: Vauxhall temperature gauges
There seem to be analogue RPM, oil temperature, charging voltage, coolant temperature and fuel level gauages but only a digital speedometer. I can't make out from the picture if all the gauges are being presented virtually instead of physical gauges but, if the former, maybe what is shown can be selected in one of the menus.
I'd rather have an oil pressure gauge than one for oil temperature - much more useful in keeping an eye on the engine

I find it bizarre that the volt-meter goes up to 19 volts.
Most car accessories would be fried if you exceed 16 volts.
Using a normal voltage regulator, maximum system voltage would not exceed 14.9 volts.
I cannot really see the point of the Eco graph either.
The basic bar-graph on a 1983 Maestro 1300 HLS was more than informative enough.
Or the similar LED display on an 80s Golf Driver.
Being cynical, I presume the new-fangled over complex display gives you more to look at when you are stuck in traffic.

I don't understand how someone can employ you as a piece of furniture.
The topic makes perfect sense to me... far more than your supposed occupation.

Re: Vauxhall temperature gauges
Look it's quite simple, someone pays him to lie down and be sat on all day.
It's quite a common occupation down our way, I heard you can earn up to £80k doing it.

I am in the wrong occupation obviously.James McGrath wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 7:01 pm It's quite a common occupation down our way, I heard you can earn up to £80k doing it.
Still - the mind boggles.
Re: Vauxhall temperature gauges
In the actual car, the two round gauges at the sides are real analog gauges.
