1993 2.0i gls auto box filter

can anyone advise if the auto box filter should be serviced or renewed. I cant find any info on this. If renewal where could I get one as I have not been able to find one anywhere, thanks.car is 1993 2.0i gls

As far as I know, there isn't a removable filter which can be accessed from outside of the box, but there may be an internal one somewhere. I've asked around before and pretty much got told the same.

I believe there is one inside that requires removal of the covers. I don't recall a service schedule for it and we only changed fluid on the services in my dealer days. Rear wheel drive boxes had one inside the transmission pan and it made quite a difference when they were changed and the bands adjusted.
