Anyone know how to draw up a "cutting list"? Any joiners etc

Post by TurboDan »

I have found a company that i want to order some wood from. Now they will cut your wood to any size you want and edge it etc.. but they need a cutting list to work from. I havent a clue what one is or how to draw one up, i have plenty of drawings with measurments but im sure if i walked in with these they would laugh me out of the shop lol.

Any ideas?

Basically the type and material followed by the dimensions. I gather its all straight cuts.
Every thing has to be in mm for example.
4 x 12mm MDF - 1200mm x 300mm

As a trainee carpenter, I agree with that...  Oh hello, can I have some wood please? ;) They'll probably piss themselves..

But ye, basically get the measurements in mm as Troy said, I can't see any harm in showing them drawings for awkward pieces like L-shapes. It's far easier for them to see it in numbers. :thumb
