What happened to your white one? Or have you still got it?

With regard to your question, same as on any car really, check the underside for corrosion, exhaust for holes etc, the ends of both sills, and ask for receipts for any work or MOT's that it's had. :thumb

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Still have the white one and I still love it but needs to much doing to it and its getting hard on funds now. So I might aswell get a more up together one that doesn't need much doing to it. Also its a smaller engine so I might save a bit more on petty. Whats the 1.8 8 valver like anyway?

Inner sills, outersills.
Anywhere where more than 2 peices of metal join (bottom the of the rear quarters under the bumper is a prime example
Inner rear wheel arches, especially down the side of the chassis rails
Rear beam mounts
Rear floor
Seat belt anchorage points
Front inner wheel arches
Boot floor (rear corners where the rain drains are)

Strong engines when looked after. Not fast, but not 1.4 corsa slow either.

The C18NZ is a great little engine, mine has never given problems aside the usual electric gubbins... sensors etc.

If it's an auto, it won't be quick but smooth and sounds nice. I haven't driven a manual C18NZ but I did have an 18SV, basically the same, just a carb instead of single injector. That went well considering the weight of these Cavaliers... You'll find that you have to work the engine a bit more to get to speed as compared to the 2 liter lumps. But once you get there they're alright.

Easy to work on in my opinion, as there is a bit less in the engine bay, i.e. no multi-point injection and a smaller throttle body etc. If you do buy it and are stuck with anything, I'm only down the coast :thumb
