finally got round to finishing my xe cover :)

pretty cool paint tbh :) but you need a tidy heat gun to get the effect :)

leaving it to dry on its own is a no no :lol: works better if you help it with heat , I only know this from google

some people struggle using it with out the help of heat

just waiting on custom plug cover and chrome bolts :)

Repaired one dans wheel this evening one, pictures of before and after unfortunately in the correct order lol. I haven't smoothed it off as dans doing all that

Cambelt insert would look cool painted like this to match

Nice one Troy, I am under the impression that ali welding is quite a lot harder than steel.

The tig torch is the hardest bit. It's a bit like the old gas welding. Ali isn't like steel to weld at all, It melts into a weld pool but doesn't run like steel. It's hard to explain.

Ive had a play with troys ali welder and its nowhere near as easy as mig welding. Allot of hand coordination is needed to get the movements just right.

been fabricating the rear arch on my mates 1991 skoda rapid. its been a few years since any sort of thin sheet welding but i'm quite impressed with myself just need to sort the floor, other arch, doors and any other holes we find/make i'll try getting some pics up see what you guys think of my amateur welding/fabricating skills

small cracks welded in sump then bead blasted then hit with the wrinkle paint :)

An update on the wheel that troy ali welded for me:

All smoothed/repaired and painted all 4, i did them all at the bodyshop i worked at, went back there a few days after work last week and done them, first time ive painted since i left and i'm glad to say i havent forgot lol
