The autos can tow a train as far as I'm aware, but generally speaking weight wise there's braked and unbraked trailers, shouldn't tow anything heavier than your car, unless for a very short distance.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

I think 1200 kg is near enough the limit for braked trailers, although check the Haynes manual just to be sure. Redtops shouldn't have trouble pulling a ton.

nice turbo pic!

When i bought my unroadworthy but just running Jag MK2, i borrowed a big 4 wheel car trailer to fetch it. glad it wasnt far away as it was mighty heavy and I shouldnt have done it. has to have been 2T. what as I thinking! even with the tweeked xe that usually has oodles of oomph, i couldnt get into 4th and it be of any use and I had the usually epic vectra gsi sized brakes close to on fire as I came into Romsey.
The sri 8V did win tow car of the year early on IIRC, but for maybe a 1000kg ish caravan, not a 2T jag and trailer.

check the rules, unlike me ignoring them and dont haul too much!

It might be a caravan club promotional picture. I recall that the Cav turbo and Calibra turbo both won towcar of the year at some point?

I work in a petrol station, and have towed many cars off the forecourt both dead and alive. Nissan Navara, Transit lwb, mondeos etc. Biggest thing i have pulled is a Range Rover Sport thing. 2.5 tons according to Google! I also have towed a caravan, 4 birth, plated at 1.1 ton unladen. On the road I've pulled a punto and stilo on a bar, and a hilux crewcab on a rope! That was the worst by a mile! It hasn't had areal problem with anything yet!

Forgot to mention, an abandoned mk4 astra van with the handbrake on! twonk dumped it, police can't do anything cos its private property :(

Cavalier 2.5 and calibra turbos have indeed won towcar of the year as has the 2.0 Cavalier 8v

They are good towcars for trailers and trailer tents and not too bad for caravans although you do have to watch the weight on the bigger vans but all in all very good.
