mine is a 93 k reg 2.0 gls mot till may, 107k on the clock, its the 8v engine, has a scrape on the nsr panel, since ive owned it ive put a complete new clutch in, still guaranteed, new nsf tyre, new back box, hazard switch, has a crack in corner of screen but mot passable, 1 slow puncture, and can smell petrol fumes when tank is full pictures can be seen in my other post my cavvy,

I'd get that leak checked out before even dreaming of selling the car... Nobody would buy a car that stinks of gasoline before you even start the engine.

if its not a leak, it will be the fuel cap isnt sealing.

Good point. Could be a possibility. The way to check that is to open it after driving the car a few miles, as it's an injected engine with an in-tank fuel pump, the system will pressurize, if the cap is sealing ok, it should hiss when you open it. If it doesn't, it's the cap.

Although hissing could be down to the fuel tank breather pipes not doing their job properly...?

IT DONT MAKE ANY NOISE WHEN I GO TO THE GARAGE TO FILL UP, CAN ONLY SMELL IT IN THE CAR WHEN WINDOWS OR ROOF IS OPEN, CANT FIND A LEAK ANY WHERE IT ALL LOOKS DRY WHEN I BEEN UNDER IT, oops soz for shouting, lol,

No it should hiss, it means the system is pressurized and no air is entering or escaping.
