Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project
I forgot to mention that I attempted to test fit the left headlamp. The beam alignment was a mile off. And then I realised that the glass lens was not fitted properly - it had slipped a good inch to the right from the light bowl. Looks like naff grey sealant was used to bond the glass to the bowl. ...

Re: The Wife's Vectra-C - The other battle wagon
The girl seems very dedicated. She has already found a few issues with the offside outer CV joint - it is missing it's securing circlip. The comment was "I only had to touch the strut and it came apart from the joint" Yeesh!! No other news yet about the car, so hopefully no sheared bolts ...

Re: GSI no: 2.
A bit belatedly it’s got another years MOT, though it’s spent most of the summer on axle stands trying to sort last year’s advisories out. I fitted used by me grooved rear discs & black diamond pads, whilst doing this I fitted the Goodrigde stainless braided flexible lines front & rear. Whi...

Re: Aren't Neighbours Just Great?
Neighbours are like everything else, good ones and bad ones sadly. Sounds like you're sandwiched between some asshats. Involve Environmental Health with your local council if the place is being treat like a scrap yard and is unsafe. Same with the dogs, if they are unable to control them, they should...

I wouldn't go removing material from the subframe, it'll weaken it significantly. and ultimately you'll be replacing it again.
Lanoguard is getting some good reviews for metal protection and after seeing it applied the other day, looks very easy to use.

The missus insisted that I got shut of the Yaris.
If I had kept it, then she would still be whinging now - lol.
I have no idea why VW parts cost so much.
As to why I pay - because the missus wants the van done.
Another theme emerging - lol.

Heh, I do feel bad about taking the Yaris off you, on occasion (but never for very long).
It'll come together, I personally will never understand why VW's command the money for parts that people pay though
