Re: my daily cav

Future plans are splitter, half leather retrim and leather doorcards. Full respray to remove some laquor peel and fading. Rear electric window conversion. And something engine wise but don't know what yet.

Needs a decent splitter on the front bumper but otherwise looks nice and mean.

my daily cav

Well it's taken me long enough but thought I'd throw up some pics of my Cav and it's progression so far. Anyone who remembers my introduction thread may remember this was a run around to take the daily burden off my Nova. Well that got wrote off a month or 2 ago now so I have been playing with the C...

Re: quick question re cav running gear

I wish. Unfortunately the nova is heading for the crusher too after some idiot decided to crash into me and wrote it off.

The cav 4x4 was meant to be its replacement.

Had another poke around tonight and its definitely off to the crusher. No way the shell can be repaired to get it back on the road.

Re: quick question re cav running gear

Unfortunately not as the car was in plymouth whilst I am in the lake district. Not looking to blame anyone as I know its my fault for placing so much trust in the seller. Im just trying to salvage something from it. Im fairly handy with tools being a mechanic for nearly ten years just a bit lacking ...

Re: quick question re cav running gear

Ive ended up with all running gear minus the 20seh, a shell requiring 4 doors, slam panel, rear arches, front wings. Black early sri seats and dash and doorcards. Drivers bolster worn passenger doorcard has a speaker fitted to the middle of it and dash has a huge chunk missing out of the middle. Oh ...

Re: quick question re cav running gear

My welder is very good. Lesson learnt, some people are just hard faced and dishonest. Oh well strip anything of value and weigh the shell in. Shame I had great plans for it too. Back to scouring the for sale ads.

Re: quick question re cav running gear

A normal gls shell. I did ask and was told the only issues were no engine, a dent in the rear doir and a parch of rust above the rear window and a cracked screen. The car is a g reg sport 2.0 8v 4x4. Turned up today with major rot in most panels, including around the sunroof, only half a windscreen,...

Well I'll add something I consider a bit special and rare. The vauxhall nova Hutchison cabriolet. And here's a pic of one I was lucky enough to own as my first car .

Re: c20ne tuning

Ah the old 8v vs 16v debate. It all comes down to personal preference really. I prefer to tune the 8v to give the 16v a run for its money. There's nothing better than hitting the strip or track and the first thing people ask afterwards is you got a redtop in there? Its great to be able to say no its...

Re: quick hello

Well to be honest these are the photos it was advertised with, don't get to pick it up and have a good poke around till this weekend, but as soon as I get it it will be straight up on the lift at work and properly poked around so that I can decide what to do with it after winter. And it only cost 30...

Was that in Total Vauxhall recently?

It has been in total vauxhall for the last two issues, last issue for the German road trip and the previous issue for the rolling road feature
