Re: The future for Turbo #3...?!
Dan, in my opinion it a good plan, even if its a fully stripped track car its still a genuine cavalier turbo 4x4 that's being save from the scrappy, I like the idea of a fully prepped tack day cav turbo, but in my opinion should be left in its standard colour, as I thinks cav turbos only suit the or...

Re: my cav turbo 4x4 work in progress
had a bit more cav time today, bolted on the manifold, completed the oil intake, coupled up the air intake and I managed to retain the original air box, I'm happy about that, coupled up turbo to intercooler and put on vacuum tubes, now just the exhaust side of things to sort out, a couple of pics, h...

Re: my cav turbo 4x4 work in progress
started to fit all the ancillary parts to the turbo, fitted the oil intake and return lines, fitted water in and out hoses, and started on the air intake side of the turbo, still need a few parts to finish intake side, then try and sort out how to couple the exhaust side of turbo, a few pics but the...

Re: Cavalier V6 any good?
I had a cav v6 years ago, mine had a lightened flywheel and pipercross induction kit and it made 192bhp on the rollers, which wasn't a bad result, the v6 is a good engine although it a big heavy lump, but id say the GSI is quicker than the v6, and I have had both in the past, if you want quick save ...

Dan, the last time I had a seized brake nipple that I rounded off, I bought a cheap set of small stilsons, once there clamped on they never slipped and I got the nipple loose, Ads

Re: my cav turbo 4x4 work in progress
The new turbo arrived today, its a gt28 copy with internal wastegate, so trial fitted it onto newly acquired manifold, as you will see from the pics, it fits well and should be plenty of space to fit all the ancillary parts on http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll184/andysri/WP_20150818_001_zpsj3bn9...

Re: one simple question
I had cavs with both engines in, it all depends what your after, fuel economy, reliability, power, I prefer the let , if you keep your fuelling right and don't let it run lean, it should run fine, and a engine on standard internals will run 250 to 300bhp no probs, I suppose the xe is more reliable a...

Re: my cav turbo 4x4 work in progress

Re: 4 pot calipers
I agree with Troy, if your spending that much, get a proper cavalier turbo, it dosnt matter what you do to the SRI, it will still be a sri with turbo lump, ive been down that route so I should know, cav turbos are only ever going to go up in price the rarer they get, and they are without doubt the b...

fitted a new oil catch tank today, as the new turbo I am going to fit hasn't a port for the oil breather hose that comes from the rocker cover, so I decide to go the catch tank route, and vent to atmosphere. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x11/cavyads/WP_20150718_002_zpsnqb5ezoo.jpg http://i182.p...

Not much of an update to be honest but ive been mainly driving it shock horror. What did come evident latley was that the current clutch has about had it and slips on boost over about 5psi , but suppose its done well for 10 years plus its been on the car. This will be replaced over winter with a Cou...
