Re: Car Polish

Its a baffling world the car cleaning world or "detailing" as its recently become known. My tuppence worth is a good pressure wash, chamois dry then break out the auto glym, intensive tar remover for all the black spots. Super resin polish and bumper gel and tyre foam. Im usually bored by ...

Re: cav colour

Ahh so thats what it is. I remember when I was a lad going around garages with my dad looking for an sri, (were talking mid/late 90's) we test drove 3, first being a facelift sri in the purple, a mint v6 cdx in a red and the pre-face SEH Sri hatch which he ended up buying and passing down to me 10 y...

Yea as above, this is an easy job with maplins thermal fuses, i did this on a mates laguna a while back and it worked a treat. Just be careful not to get too much heat from the soldering iron on it and blow the new fuse !

Re: cav colour

Do you mean Polar Sea Blue. (13L) Looks dark blue at many angles... Purple tints at other angles. Looks the dogs danglies when polished up. No not polar sea blue, love that colour though.. This colour.. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc135/dazzlersri/vauxhall_cavalier_sri_5_zpsikd9nu80.jpeg

Look lovely polished up, popular colour back in the day too. Anyone know what that purple colour was called that some facelift sri's used to be in ?

Re: Return to a Cavalier - Satin Red Diplomat.

Good plan, theres fewer and fewer cavaliers about now so thatll be a good save.
Ive not driven an insignia yet but like the look of the new facelifted ones, i bet its like night and day stepping out of that into your cav or gte ?

Re: 2l 8v engines

Cant agree more, the 20SEH in my old sri took a beating and never once complained, did 143,000 on original headgasket, clutch, all bearings, never needed a thing. I ended up scrapping it due to a rotten body in the end, wish id re-shelled it to this day. Miss that car ! :(

Thats a nice base for a project, nice and clean. Whats your plans with it then ?

The XP150 vectra looks lovely ! A prettier car then the insignia in my opinion.

Yea you can say that again. i was beginning to think id never find one with a decent milage. One strange thing though, there always seems to be a few turbo clocks floating round ebay with sub-100k miles..! :?

C20let airboxes interchangable ?

HI, just a quick one, i need a new standard airbox for my cavalier turbo and a calibra turbo one has just come up cheap locally, does anyone know if they are interchangable ?

I only really need the bottom tray of it as a previous owner has attacked every face of it with a holesaw...
