Re: TD Daily Project

Well it's strange how minds change.. Debating selling on the old cav with some of the parts because I've got my L to keep me more than busy and parts are taking up my space along with parts for the L and could make good use of some bits I would keep for the L. Not quite sure yet but I'm not going of...

Adding kerb light illumination

I'm wanting to add kerb light illumination front and rear got cards and lights and metal contacts to add into the rear ones I just don't have the wiring in the loom I don't think, unless Gary can tell me otherwise from the loom I'm getting from him and obviously don't have them on the rear.

Re: Cavalier 1.6L

Thought I'd post on this one for both, any car cover recommendations for a saloon and for hatch (if different cover is needed) as the TD won't be worked on until about February next year and just to cover the L for protection. Also to update I've changed the drivers side door seals and the hatch sea...

Re: Cavalier 1.6L

Has anyone got tips for finding the right door seals. As I've got my set of black ones ready to swap for the beige ones, I had a hard time finding which one before it got dark quickly.

When you say swap the brackets, do you mean to use the vectra or cav brackets?

Re: Vec 100amp alternator on 16sv?

Ah right thanks for your help Robsey, that's a shame but oh well think I'll get it recon'd then, also could you check if there's a compatable 100amp alternator for the Isuzu TD? While we're on the subject of 100a alternators as I'm interested in one for that aswell

Re: Vec 100amp alternator on 16sv?

Oh that's weird.. :scratch so since the vectra engines are family 2 ones and yes the 16sv is definitely a family one engine they won't be compatable?
A 120amp does sound a bit overkill for it.

Re: Vec 100amp alternator on 16sv?

So as long as the car has a standard duty 063 battery the alternator will be fine? I'm guessing it says so on the battery? Do you know if I'll have a problem swapping the pulley's over to the correct 4tooth one? Thanks Robsey :thumb

Re: Vec 100amp alternator on 16sv?

The one currently has in a four tooth pulley and the vec one has 5, is it just a case of swapping the pulley's over?

Vec 100amp alternator on 16sv?

My current alternators dying and I've read that it's a straight replacement but I read where someone listed compatable engines but it didn't show 16sv.

Re: newbie with my sri let

Very nice cav, a nice and powerful lump in it aswell :) I actually quite like the Astra wheels on it, although I don't think I've seen phase one vec gsi's on a hatch before. I'm guessing it's the black stripped interior?

I've been waiting for this update since I saw your post, really nice and clean looking cav you've secured :) Liking the vec wheels and the spoiler, they suit it well. You wouldn't happen to want to replace that gsi grill with a correct facelift one would you? Also got a set of fog lights from a GLS ...
