Re: Redtop into a late Ecotec Cavalier SRI
Hi you can use the xev starter charger loom which is seperate to the engine loom. The xev starter and charger loom is better than the xe starter charger loom as you can earth the xe on the block aswell as from gearbox to body so you get two earths it's what's been done on my xev to xe conversion.

Re: diff's
Everybody says that a Quaife ATB transforms the handing characteristics of their car. Are they worth it? That depends on how your wife intends to drive the car. Pretty quick my wife drives she brakes later than me I wish I had a second brake on passenger's side lol I will give it some death too I'v...

Re: Straight exhaust
If there are no silencers then yes the gases will escape much faster and it will be a lot louder, depending on the size of the tail pipe, but when I had a straight through exhaust on my old 1.8 auto, it made it slower and it didn't sound right. Maybe on powerful engines it makes a difference but fo...

Re: 8wrf20 and f18wr 5th gear
No sign of a wide ratio F20 in TIS, but here is a breakdown of the F20CR and F18WR gearboxes fitted to the Mk3 Cavalier. F18 WR 5th gear ratio = 0.74:1 - teeth values = 32/43 F18 CR 5th gear ratio = 0.89:1 - teeth values = 33/37 F20 CR 5th gear ration = 0.89:1 - teeth values = 31/35 And for complet...

I'm using the f18wr 5th gear but need to check the sizes on my f20 and f18wr to see if its been done cheersRobsey wrote:You could go 0.71 from the F16WR, but it hasn't been torque / load rated as high as the F20 unit, so if you are planning on giving it some beans, then it probably wouldn't last very long.
