Re: Which engine?

Bought another at the weekend. Don't hate Z20LET but in place of a C20LET is just WRONG.

Which engine?

I've just got myself another Cavalier.
I'm after suggestions on whether to fit a Z20LET or Saab turbo.

The car is a 1995 SRi, So it's an ecotec.

Whats the pros and cons of each engine and how easy/hard are the conversion?

I was going to say the same as fuel pump relay.
Had the same problem with the fuel pump relay on my old Astra GSi, Usually happened when the engine was warm. Cold starting was fine.

Re: Warning! Be careful where you wash

I had a foreign woman stop at my unit the other day asking if I could fix her headlight. She'd used the carwash at Tesco in Wigan. They've used a high concentrate of TFR by looks of it and damaged the plastic lens on the O/S headlight. You can see where the acid has ate into the plastic. It;s also c...

Re: Springs for MOT

As long as the spring is secure and not too low so the car fouls the body then it should pass. If the springs are so low they dislocate easy, USe cable ties to secure them.

Re: Why have bigger brakes?

Bigger brakes for a road car is pointless, But if you drive spirited even on a few A roads then I'd say a brake upgrade should be a must. If the car comes from factory with a good setup like 4 pots and over 300mm then they'd be plenty for most aspects of tuning. On all Vauxhalls I've owned I found t...

I've just had another mate at the unit who is a spark, He's going to price it up at his wholesaler but he reckons 16mm is better because of the length :o

Re: Armoured cable.

It's a little hard to explain really. The whole yard used to be one Rover dealership back in the 60's and 70's. Now there are 3 buildings on it. The main garage is massive which my mate runs. Then there's a fairly big car lot with my unit behind that. At the minute the car lot and my unit are fed of...

Re: Armoured cable.

In the unit there's 9 double sockets and 10 fluorescent strip lights. There will be a fridge on constantly, We're also getting a water heater for the sink. A compressor and welder could be on at the same time.

Re: Armoured cable.

Well What are you running in this unit seems Very big for a light and a socket, I'd find out if 3phase is available as a 4mm armoured would suit 20 to 30amps per phase. Really I'd start by finding out what the protective device is. All I'm trying to do is save you money rather than go out buy a wac...

Re: Armoured cable.

I've told my cousin what I would have on in the unit and he has worked out that 10mm is more than enough. 6mm would be fine but 10 is extra protection as he put it.

I don't think 3 phase is available. can you join armoured cable?
