Re: MOT's.. How much can you play with the rules
As already stated there is no maximum distance to travel to a pre booked MOT station. If you bought the car 100 miles away and MOT'd it down there. If it failed what would you do then? Just make sure the car is visibly road worthy as in tyres etc, And that you do have a pre booked slot at an MOT st...

Re: in car cameras
I've got one for when i'm in the wagon. No point in the car as i'm usually the bell end racing off
Whenever i've had the camera in my truck nothing ever happens, The one day I leave it at home and I get cut up half dozen times

Re: Back to a Cav
I got bored last night. So went down to the unit for a few hours. I got so into stripping the engine I didn't realise it was 11pm. Ready for the head to come off and go to the engine shop. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/eltel/DSC04026_zps54daed9d.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/eltel/...

Re: Back to a Cav
tbh it looks worse than it is.
As you can see the bonnet has 2 massive holes so water has been allowed over the rocker etc. The oil and coolant was fresh. It turns over on the crank.
I'll be taking head and sump off, Replacing oil stem seals and Piston rings and possibly shells if they require it.

Re: Back to a Cav
Yea smoke grey.
tbh I wasn't expecting it to be a dog really. Drove it back 100 miles and the ecotec didn't miss a beat, No crap out of the exhaust either.
It is a really tidy original Cav.

Re: Back to a Cav
Not too bad. Both rear quarters have bubbled on the bit where the door shut is. I'll get that sorted soon.
Underneath there's some surface rust. I'll wire brush it all off and underseal it. The copper fuel lines are starting to rust which I'll also change.
