Agree but I would say that the Mondeo most likely has a good following 'on the other side'

Re: Vauxhall why do people buy them?

It's my wife's fault!! Well for me anyway. Until meeting and marrying the wife, I'd never had a Vauxhall. Back then she had a Cavalier mk2 base model 1.3 saloon in white. As poverty spec as can be, After a manual choke conversion, the 13S (pierburg 2e3 carb and electronic ignition) was stupidly rel...

Re: Vauxhall why do people buy them?

I only like pre 95 Vauxhalls, had a vectra gsi and hated the damn thing. I don't know why I like the cavalier, hated it once over But I think Vauxhall as Ford are so easy and cheap to modify, or were. Everything is interchangeable or can be with some custom work. Makes it all well and good With you...

Re: Vauxhall why do people buy them?

Vauxhall & ford have been at the top for years.. They must be good then, people seem to slate them but if they were that crap then people wouldnt buy them! VAG spares are a lot cheaper than they were so really its just the cost of the car in the first place but i think its more than just the pr...

Vauxhall why do people buy them?

Gave this a whirl over on the VODC forum so thought I would give it a go on here........... Just been reading a supplement in our local paper about the opening of the last dualled section of the A11 and in the back of it there was a feature on cars from the last 40 odd years. Included was the sales ...

Re: WTF???

As has previously been said that car has been on there for a while and i have to admit the seller seems to be a bit of a chancer at that sort of money but having said that if its as good as new then it would be worth it because you could easily buy a cheaper one for say 1000 and have to spend that a...

Re: Mikes 2.0 Gls

Oh no, I mean pre. General Motors nowadays are basically Daewoos and Hyuindais with Chevy badges on them! BUT if we're talking post 97 GM, then I'm in favor of this: http://betterparts.org/images/chevrolet-corvette-c6-01.jpg Thank goodness! Thought we had some insanity creeping in there! Lol ...

Re: Mikes 2.0 Gls

Personally if I was to buy anything made after 97 again I wouldn't buy Vauxhall, it would have to be something from the vag group as they seem to have the right balance between reliability and not too pricey spares. Would most likely go for skoda or Audi tbh.

Fair enough, always a shame when a Cav gets broken though as it means one less on the road but at least its making others live on.

I've been waiting for this update since I saw your post, really nice and clean looking cav you've secured :) Liking the vec wheels and the spoiler, they suit it well. You wouldn't happen to want to replace that gsi grill with a correct facelift one would you? Also got a set of fog lights from a GLS...

Re: A Cavalier loon..............

According to the DVLA / Direct.gov It is 1.6 in Blue. And road legal until next June. Looks very much like the C18NZ, but I presume that the C16NZ2 would look very similar. they do look very much alike - I've owned both types in my time :) Just never thought Mark would go for the 1.6 is all. I had ...

A Cavalier loon..............

So the replacement for the Zafira arrived last week in the shape of a Cavalier Saloon. Those that know me will know that deep down I regretted buying the Zafira from the day I picked it up so it was only matter of time before I was back in something older as a daily as I really dont do newer cars! A...

Why? Owned Cav's for years and I have to say I have a lot less problems with them than I do with all this modern poo! Hence the reason why the 2002 Vx went yesterday and a good ole Cav arrives on Monday to replace it.

The USB socket looks interesting, dont suppose you have a wiring diagram for it do you? Would be a nice addition to mine. I see this is up for sale on the bay, such a shame considering the work that you have put in but I guess if its not getting used its the best thing to do.

Hope it goes to a good home and good luck with the sale.
