Re: Squig's CDX v6; WIP

The grill was an aftermarket german ebay find... and the RCL kit went to be replaced with a vectra RCL, much better idea. Thanks for all the comments people... no pics yet because nothing has happened. In all the faffing I've lost my temp sensor from the rad, so I can't fit the new rad until I repl...

Re: Pizza and Cavaliers?

Not very adventurous you lot? pmsl I had humbuckers new turbo down as a double pepperoni with a dash of chillies, and Andreis sticker clad motor as a triple cheese. Steven has to take the prize for variation though with a different topping on every slice! That is funny! Personally I'd go with...

Re: Squig's CDX v6; WIP

I know... what a tit I am.
just have to fit it tomorrow, put some air in one of the tyres which is flat due to a slow leak charge the battery and top up with the correct water/anti freeze ratio and bob down to the garage to check the rear bushes to find the sloppiness then that's next while I can.

Re: Squig's CDX v6; WIP

A little update; Since I last updated this thread the Cav has spend some time off the road (a month or 2) with a blown rad... unfortunately it would appear that (once I could afford a new one) that no one is making the cav v6 rad any more, so I started trawling to find a replacement. Firstly GSF sai...

Re: I.C.V possibly playing up?

Place the bugger in a bath of clutch and brake cleaner... literally submerge it. Leave it for hours, let it fully dry then plug back in... it may work for a few months, erratically but might see you through to better financial times. On the other question; splash the cash if you going to buy one of...

Re: What is the worst car you have ever owned?

Erm... I think the worst was a polo saloon... but it was still great. Too be fair the most unreliable one so far is the cav but I've had it for over 4 years whereas most other cars including the astra GTE's have gone after at most 14 months... and my past car list is fairly dominated by vauxhall 8v'...

Aux Coolant pump c25xe...

Has anyone here had to replace their rad on a v6 recently? I ask because I've decided to splash out on a new rad from GSF for the bargain price of £70 (mines leaking for fun) only to find the listed item for the cav has no facility for the aux coolant pump (found just in font of the rad on the drive...

Re: V6

get one without aircon... the v6 will run on an F20 or F18 but it's not recommended by myself, unless you buy lots of those gearboxes or don't launch it from standing to often. You need; 1 v6 either 2.5 or 3.0 the cav manifolds (inlet and exhaust) engine mounts a f25 gearbox or a F28 by preference I...

Cleaned injectors will improve eco but not performance, bigger injectors are useless unless the maps are changed to take advantage... enlarged throttle body is a worthwhile addition thou.

It's sobering yes, but what can you do other than be cautious and careful... and even then you cannot account for the other 31 million cars on our roads.

Re: humbucker's satin red cavalier turbo WIP

Lovely car Humbucker... I'd give my back teeth for a turbo, but I'll be damned if I'd use it as a daily driver. With 4 cars on the drive atm I can't see it happening any time soon.

Anyway is this remaining more or less standard or will you be doing the whole silly power thing?
