Re: Where does this vacuum hose go!

Thank you Robsey.....that is so appreciated, yes it is a glorified carb! It seems both connectors on the throttle body intake and the one on the idle valve were totally perished and split. I am reconnecting with diesel leak off pipe I have handy. This may explain the very slightly fluffy idle....tha...

Re: outside temperature sensor

perfect thanks, so the sensor itself should read typically in 100 to 1.5K ohms range, I can check that. Its a silly thing but nice if I can correct it.

outside temperature sensor

that fact I am thinking why the outside temperature display reads 0 degrees indicates just how good my project Cav is. I have located the sender under the front, can I test the display by shorting the wires out? if I can make it read anything but 0 degrees it will confirm the sensor is at fault.

Re: New Cavalier Project

thanks Robsey, the clutch seems to be good with a twiddle of the cable adjustment! will be certain when driven again but it bites well on the drive in a nice position. The mirror tutorial is great, when I have my replacement mirror I may well use my casing if it has no scratches on it.

Fuel Filler Flap fixing screws/bolts

I have secured a replacement flap for my car, but seeing as it came without one I am unsure what the fixing is. I see the two holes, can anybody advisewere they big self tapping screws or threaded bolts? They look more suitable to self tappers to me. Thanks

Re: New Cavalier Project

yes warm is good! I use a heat gun to warm stuff up carefully. Especially good on old hard motorcycle wiring looms! The headlight is out, bottom lug was off to hence why it was not seen.

Re: Headlight Removal

well the light is out, reason I could not see the lower lug is that is snapped off too! light held in place by being crimped between the slam panel and bent upwards under light panel.

Re: Headlight Removal

Robsey thanks, yes grill already out and I had not seen that lower screw....both top lugs are broken and I think force may still be needed!! the bent lower metal is lipped over the bottom of the light.

Headlight Removal

my new 1995 Cavalier has a small nudge on the front panel under the lights and corner of bumper under indicator. No paint broken and with a little careful work should tidy up. The indicator is out, headlight currently not. I have undone the top mountings....are there more? or does it sit in lugs on ...
