Re: Pete's new toy - Yet another Lotus! Elise Special Editio
Yeah for something so stiff, you wouldn't know when you are in it, it does float over pot holes too, Lotus as per usual have done an epic job. Bit tricky to get out of but the roof unclips either side so if I am feeling lazy and dont want a tweeked back I can unclip one side and roll the roof over. ...

Pete's new toy - Yet another Lotus! Elise Special Edition
Having had 4 Lotus cars now over 26 years, (gosh I am getting old) you may have seen my last one in some pictures on here, so I thought I'd show you my latest. My ageing Esprit sold at auction late November, at Historics @ Brooklands, actually at MBW at Brooklands for that auction. Had that 12 and a...

Re: Center section of exhaust
what engine? if XE or ecotec, I have a used and new GM one and back box. with a decat you will really notice it running better, smoother and they sound great, just nice and parpy, not stupid loud. if XE, I have a big bore manifold and decat too. think the straight decat fits ecotec too. will have to...

I imagine a light bulb across the 2 pins and turn the headlights on, it should light the bulb.

Re: Odd plug found behind headlamp
pretty sure that is the 2 way that goes on the diverter valve for when headlamp wash is fitted. my dippy had it, slotted on the side of the washer bottle, different type one, iirc than yours. energises when the lights are on so the squirt goes down to the headlights when u wash the windscreen.

That was the winner, the old girl wasn't TOTALLY empty, but a slight whiff of refrigerant left inside when I tried the valves....been here many times... That means there is a chance the long term leak it had that no-one attended to, like just about all AC cars have due to the nature of the systems, ...

Batteries are not the future! They are expensive, making the batteries and disposing of batteries emmits carbon emmisions on a large scale. It isn't the answer over fossil fuels. It will help conserve what's left. Yeah, I see where you might be coming from, it's the usual old story, carbon emission...

They are all hatchback, highish rear entry though with the tailgate open, wouldn't want to be heaving an electric chair up into it. plenty of room there though, 1000 litres with the seats down, 300 without iirc. Battery is 200kg nearly, runs down the centre of the car and across under the rear seats...

Ampera - New commute mobile..
I am now Cav-less for the first time in something like 11 years. Poor blue one really died of grot and me not wanting to fix it; and Dave has the red one now for popping about in. Lots of spares here left over though. Due to a few different personal reasons, and the very kind people at the Halifax, ...

Re: Insurance group?
Okay I see, however they are saying my astra mk4 1.6 is a group 9, so I don't get how the cavalier would be of such a higher category? maybe the cav is a bigger engine, maybe higher risk etc. iirc older car does not always mean cheaper. 92' cav would be a classic car on my policy/with my company, s...
