Re: Cavalier SRI 2.0 8v MPG?
My 2.0 4x4 (c20ne), used to get around 30 and I wasn't gentle with it. Would assume a 2wd would be slightly more but depends on your right foot more than anything else.
Oh, and no such thing as a C20SEH- they never came with a cat, all early SRis were 20SEH, later ones C20NE.

Re: Chewed the Spark Plug Holes Oops (Question about CH remo
Grab your local snap on/tool man and ask for a plug hole repair tap or thread chaser. You can revive them nine times out of ten. It's just a big tap that cuts the seat too. I have one somewhere. Word of warning tho, make sure both valves are closed before you use it or you cut a nice thread on the ...

This guy might be able to help- http://www.abs-zero.com/
Seems he can reprogram fuel computers for any combination of engine/ tyre size. He stopped doing it but now he's started again.

Re: What is a good spring?
I used these http://www.aktivperformanceparts.co.uk/ ... 381801.htm on mine. Not bad for springs and shocks, quality wasn't bad either good powdercoating, really helpful as well as mine had to come from Germany (4x4). Ride was ok as well, handled really well.

Re: IRS Rear Springs
Springs do not look the same. Non irs springs are tapered top and bottom but irs springs are not. Obvious when you look at them together. Had this trouble when i looked for standard springs for my 4x4. They might fit but springs def do not look the same.

Re: Bye bye Cav
Wouldn't mind a v6 and to hell with the fuel economy. Cav only did about 1200 mls per year anyway, hence the Omega now . Have an urge for a Range Rover, V8 Discovery or late Frontera now tho which should keep me busy/ skintCavalier342 wrote:Why not get a 1.4 Cavalier? Think of the fuel economy

Re: cavalier 4x4 front wheels spin
If the light isn't coming on with the ignition then the bulb has been removed or is blown. If fuse 19 is blown/ removed light is on permanently. Most likely as said, blown accumulator and prob txb seals also. The death of many a 4x4 especially as I see its been lowered 60mm- guaranteed to kill it. F...

Cally and cav gsi/4x4 rear boxes are the same, centre section is unique to 4x4 tho.
EDIT looks like rears are different but might fit, centre section is unique to 4x4 but shared with cally.

Hope it does work but been watching BBC news channel this morning and not one mention of it, so either fallen apart already or like last time government spin and press blocking are trying to make a non event of it whilst dispersing it under some interpretation of the law that makes it illegal.

No pics but 1984 Austin Maestro 1.3L. Scars are still with me but doesn't stop me owning one now built from new shell so no rust and a 250bhp forged 620ti motor waiting for the money to finish. Cav and newly acquired Omega prevent too much progress on that tho.... that and the wife and daughter!!!

The 20ne in my 4x4 is the same fan cuts in fairly quickly in traffic but does eventually bring the temperature down. That said towed a good size caravan last year in the summer and it behaved the same. Can't remember exactly but doesn't seem any different than when I used to work on them.
